Sorry, still haven't got my regular website (www.lowdesert.net) back up on a regular basis yet. I just upgraded the machine from a Pentium II 500 mhz (though running at 333) to an AMD Athlon 1800+ with 128mb ram and LOTS of disk space. Of course, most of that space will be used as my home file server, but this also means I'll now have portable access to all my files. Now if I could only afford that notebook computer...
Anyway, in the process I also switched over from Slackware 9.1 to Debian 3.0 (Sarge). I did this because I've really become a fan of the apt packaging system, and thought I'd give it a run on my webserver. Well... after lots of grunting and enough swearing to blacken the ears of even the hardest criminal, I finally managed to get it running. But, lo and behold, to my surprise it was running Apache2. Which. I. Have. NO. experience. with. So... now I get to experience the joy of reconfiguring everything.
I'll get it done sometime... I'm just generally not much up for messing around with computers after getting home from work. Speaking of which, I need to find a futon after work today. Finally have the funds to do it. After that I'll be fairly set on my furniture needs. Maybe.
Ok, back to work. Who would've believed I'd actually enjoy making reports. <-- this is surely a sign that the end is nigh. nigh, I say. NIGH!!!!!
